Parquet wood flooring is a great way to introduce pattern in a subtle, stylish and enduring way.
There are plenty of fitting options to consider, including the classic and universally adored herringbone pattern, in addition to attractive basket weave and brick designs. It all comes down to a matter of personal preference and the effect you want to create.
Don’t be put off by parquet if you have a small or narrow shaped room. The pattern of the blocks can play with perspective helping to visually elongate or widen a room.
Oak is a versatile species that takes pigments very well, so it lends itself well to pre-sealed flooring. The physical characteristics that give Oak its charm are still visible through the finish, so this floor has a naturally charming character and can be matched with the desired design scheme.
This engineered overlay floor can only be laid over an existing subfloor, not as a structural floor. Overlays are made up of a top layer of precious hardwood with a multi-layer ply backing, meaning this floor has the same beautiful appearance of solid wood but is a much more efficient and sustainable use of material. We advise that an additional coat is applied once this product has been laid.

Our engineered Parquet Woodblock has been produced using WBP birch ply, manufactured to European standard EN 326-2. The adhesive used to bond the board is an E1 category, PUR adhesive (formaldehyde free) to DIN/EN 14257 and DIN/EN 204 low emission glue which is heat and water resistant in accordance with BS EN 14342:2005+A1. The top layer is kiln dried to between 8-12% moisture content.
The formaldehyde emissions are: 0,01 ppm, pentachlorophenol emissions: <0.8 mg/kg.
Thermal conductivity (W/mK) is 0,10W/mK.
Suitable for a fully bonded installation to a screed or ply subfloor, factory Oiled ready to use.
*if the product is being laid in a high traffic environment then an additional coat of oil is recommended.
Compatible for use in conjunction with underfloor heating the woodblock complies with BS 8201:2011, rated in accordance with BS EN 13501-1

Engineered: 2 part Engineered floor with a Hardwood top surface bonded to a multilayer waterproof Birch Plywood. Boards can be Nailed, Stuck Down, or Floated depending on product type and sub floor. Parquet woodblocks must be stuck down. All floors are Tongue and Groove with Ends Matched unless stated otherwise.
Micro Bevelled: Micro Bevelled means a very small v shape can be seen on the long sides of the boards. The ends have no bevel.
Pre-Oiled: This product is supplied with a Factory UV Oiled surface. The Natural Wood Floor Company recommends that an additional coat of oil is applied to the surface prior to regular use.
Stick Down: Sticking involves the use of an adhesive to bond the wood flooring to either a concrete/screed sub floor or to a ply/chipboard sub floor.
Under Floor Heating: This product is compatible for use over an electric or water under floor heating system. The maximum temperature must not exceed 27 degrees Celsius at the floor surface.
