Bathroom Wood Flooring

Wood flooring for Bathrooms by The Natural Wood Floor Co

Wooden flooring can work in many different bathroom settings, from luxury designer bathrooms to smaller and more functional en-suites. To get the most out of this beautiful material, you need to choose the correct type of flooring and to maintain it properly.

Types of wood flooring suitable in the bathroom

Engineered wood is by far the best option, compared to solid boards. This is primarily because of the multi-layer core of an engineered board, creating an incredibly robust and stable surface. This is essential, as it limits the movement in the floor. The dramatic fluctuations of moisture  and temperature in a bathroom environment naturally cause movement, which your wood floor has to be able to withstand. Only an engineered floor can match this standard.

As the manufacturers of most of the wood flooring we sell, we can assure the highest standards of production. You can read more about our expert engineering processes here.

The humid environment in a bathroom is an extra factor in making a choice of which finish you want on your floor. We would generally advise an oiled finish in a bathroom due to the natural resistence to moisture in the oil. Read about how to care for an oiled floor here.

Wood flooring and underfloor heating in the bathroom

A benefit of choosing engineered flooring is that it is usually suitable for underfloor heating. The warm and inviting feeling of underfloor heating is great to have in the bathroom.

We manufacture wood flooring that is suitable for use in all of the rooms of your home or workplace. If you’re looking for inspiration for other flooring project ideas, have a look at our Houzz and Pinterest pages, or check out our Be Inspired section.
